Hello! Just stumbled onto this beautiful and soul stirring album. All the pics do reflect something. For me the expression on Mary's (Peace be upon her)face in Rome 2 Pieta reflects anguish, helplessness and a heart wrenching complaint! As if complaining to GOD how could you let this to pass!!! Such a pure and spiritual collection! Nothing stirs more emotion than the heartbreaking Pieta! Michealangelo's is still by far the one that just speaks to me the most and says so much in that petrified stillness! Thanks for sharing so many versions of such a powerful point in time!

I just came from Ms Isabela's site and found these amazing Pieta's for myself! I love the "Killarney Pieta" it is so very full of the true Passion of Both Jusus and Marys Broken Sorrowed Heart. Hello Pieta enthusiast! I took a look at each photo with great interest and each piece is inspirational. I have a 10-inch Pieta at home, a replica of the one from St. Peter's Basilica. Hello Beth! What a great art album this is! It is very interesting to see how each art period has influenced the others and how the sculptural styles have evolved over time. I am going to keep an eye for Pietas in my future travels, if you still want to add some... But so far my travels take me to National Parks! Dear Beth, The outside pieta is in Oise in the village of Lierville, part of the French Vexin Regional Park; This Pieta is from 16th century; At rear is the belfry of the lovely roman church from 12th century.

As to my own D70 - I've been using almost nothing but Nikon cameras and lenses for a great many years and the main reason why I stayed with Nikon when I went digital was because of my existing collection of Nikon lenses. Dear Beth, I will progressively post some of the 360 new photos of the Pietas seen in many huge places World Heritage classified as located on the Caminos de Santiago de Compostella; As many have been pictured several times under different angles, that gives me a large possibility to offer You those You love particularly; You have only to ask for; I think I have collected about 200 really new distinct ones of good quality, a pity that some in a unique examplary have been taken in such furtive bad conditions (mostly in Spain because no photo, no tripod!) that they are not showable! Many thanks Beth for sharing this Artistic sculpture album.A life size replica of Michelangelos Pieta came to Australia in the early seventies and travelled to the Capital cities. Awesome.
