Yes I've heard of Diego Garcia. Our niece is in the Air National Guard and was stationed there for 3 or 4 mos. right at the beginning of the this war. She had to leave her husband and two little boys, but my bil a retired Lt. Col of the AF, assured us she was in a safe place and had a very important job there. I had no idea it's such a beautiful place though!!! Your pics look like some of Carribean cruises I've seen from folks who've been on them. Wow!! Our youngest son Tom is also in a beautiful country. When he graduated from tech school last Oct 2003, he came home for 3 wks then reported to his first PDS at Misawa AFB in Japan. He'll be there 2 yrs, and has already been there for one. In Jan, he's going to Kuwait for 4 mos. I'm glad that's as close to Iraq as he's going to get, I hope anyway. I don't know, I think Tom being away is harder on us, me anyway, than it is on him. He adapts well to new situations, makes lots of friends easily, so I think he's fine with all of this. I'm so glad he's happy though, it would be awful on all of us if he wasn't. He's making the best of it and travels around the country whenever he can. He'll be 20 on New Year's Eve and the drinking age over there is 20. He's going to try to get a group of single guys together and go down to Tokyo over New Year's to the dance clubs they have over there. Tokyo is about 400 mi south of Misawa, but the trains are really REALLY fast there. Tom came home this last June for 2 wks, but his friends and gf got most of his time, same as when he came home from tech school. I know, what a whiner!! lol Hey have you heard of an online support group for Parents and Spouses of the Air Force? If you'd like, I'll send you the link. You can e-mail me at: amc_ledhead@yahoo.com Glad you like my pics. Jan
