Album Description:
The Asian Elephants in this album live at the St. Louis Zoo. Bob and I always enjoy the challenge of trying to catch some of their antics with our cameras. The Orchids are on exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden's yearly Orchid Show.

Interesting! This caught my eye because I took lots of pics of Baby Raja and also have a blue & gold macaw named after him. I live in St. Louis, MO as well and have a great pic of Raja as a baby standing behind (under the legs of Clara - his aunt) and along side his mom. Visit my pics and see the album entitled my favorite pics and I think that is where I have that picture. Webshots is a great program, don't you think? I've met lots of friends through Webshots.

Hello Sharon and Bob! We have been happy this morning to discover Sharon's message! We just have a look at this reduced site! Good idea to keep the featured albums alive!!! But we are sorry for all the wonderful pictures gone away! We love your wonderful elefants, and, of course, the awesome orchids, too! We'll write more soon! Warm wishes for Sharon's health! Love and hugs to both of you! Henri and Käthi

Hi Bob and Sharon. Sorry I took a while to get back for a proper look. What a different mix you have here, elephants and orchids. The funny thing is that it worked well. The elephants probably made the orchids look better if that's possible. Sharon, Bob and I had a chat and thought maybe you should be the caddy for a while, just until the swelling of his head goes down after his feature. lol. Thanks for sharing and congrats once again. Best wishes Al..

Congratulations Bob and Sharon for your feature album!!! I am so sorry I was late signing it. I have not been online for a few days because of my health and tests and so I came on today for a few minutes to look at the features. THis album is such an unusual combination, but it makes perfect sense to me since these are your two favourite places. I have already downloaded almost all of the orchids. Do I like them? Of course!!! Love them, and the elephants are great to see. They looked like they were fighting but hopefully just playing. hugs and love, and talk to you soon, Barbara

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Dear Sharon and Bob, I loved viewing your elephants and orchids, the variety made for a stunning album! I got tickled at the shot where you were glad she didn't spray you, I know the feeling but sometimes on a hot summer day, it isn't too bad to be sprayed, lol. I also enjoyed the photo of the elephants at rivers edge and the one swimming for a snack. Great work, again..... as usual! Hope you are having a nice weekend, Candy

Dear Sharon and Bob ! Belated compliments on your wonderful album published in February (missed it!) and TIMELY congratulations on your album being featured today! Your album and you two as its creators have earned it and deserve it! I enjoyed the slide show and your novel idea of rotating between those magnificent huge creatures and the exquisite, delicate orchids. Your photos of the elephants at play and in their daily routines are so realistic one could think you were among the zoo keepers to get such intimate close shots! And the orchids - as the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words!" - simply gorgeous. But last, but not least, are your ever faithful captions - informative, humorous, and precise enough to even satisfy the horticulturist! It was a wonderful experience to view your album and I wish you well on your next one. With a friendly hug, bruno

Hello! Thanks to Henri and Kaethi, I had a chance to look at your beautiful album. The orchids are glorious and the elephants seem to be having a great time. My young son (now 36) and I visited the St Louis Zoo, a long time ago and loved it. The memories have faded with time, but I shall always remember a peacock strutting his stuff in the middle of the path. Strange what one remembers. It was raining that day, so could not stay long, but remember wishing we could have seen more. Thank you for sharing these photos. Sharon from SE Minnesota

Elephants and Orchids, not your ordinary combination! I must admit that I would never have thought of it, but IT WORKS! GREAT album - as are all of your albums! The orchids are beautiful. Great texture, light and shadow in the elephant photos. I truly enjoyed your new album. ENCORE! Sheryl

Great album! I love how you placed the photos with every other one an elephant! The one where Raja is coming out of the forest looks like you are in the wilds rather than the St. Louis Zoo. This is a wonderful arrangement, I see a featured album in this one. It is a winner for me! Could you let me know the best time to visit the Botanical Gardens, for the spring blooms? I would love to view it as your album, "Spring Is The Time" shows it, toooo be stunning. That is an awesome album. Our son lives in Farmington, Missouri, it would be nice to plan a trip to visit when we could catch the gardens in all their glory. Please give me a guesstiment as to the best time. I have viewed all of your albums of the gardens in all their seasons. Over and over and over. I have been told by some that St. Louis has the most beautiful Botanical Gardens in the USA. Your photos confirm this. Thank you for sharing the beauty with us. segseven, OKLAHOMA

Hi Sharon, This is a fantastic album. The strength of the elephants mixed with the fragility of the orchids is a unique composition. I was just thinking yesterday that I need to get up to the Botanical Gardens and take some photos. I don't want to miss the spring flowers. I'm trying to be patient, but it's hard this time of year when we keep getting teased with this unusually warm weather. Can you believe they are calling for snow this weekend?? I loved the photos of Raja. I guess all of us here in the St. Louis area have a special place in our hearts for him. Thank you for sharing such wonderful photos. Please stop by and visit my albums any time. Peace and Love. Donna/Missouri

Hi Bob and Sharon! What a great contrast!!! I love elephants and orchids so this is one of my favorite albums! Fabulous job capturing those elephant antics:-))) I'm so glad to see that they have a swimming hole and that Raja wanted to come see you! Did he get to go home with you? I would take him home!!! The orchids are breathtaking and just so incredibly beautiful! Well done on the entire album!!!! Thanks for letting us see! Hugs and love! Jane

Hello Sharon and Bob! What an amazing combination of two oposites: the giant elephants and the delicate orchids! Two kind of beauties, but so diffrent! We love elephants, these so intelligent and majestic animals! But we also love the orchids, on an other way: we always are astonished about the enormous number of species, one more beautiful than the other! You created an outstanding album! We appreciate getting the names of the orchids as well as the amusing comments for the playing elefants! Thanks for this great surprise! Love and hugs, Henri and Kaethi

Hi Sharon, What a nice album. Just looked at it briefly as I have to go out soon. Loved the elephants. Even made one into a puzzle! :--)) Beautiful orchids. Wouldn't mind having a few plants like them. Their flowers last such a long time. Good job as always. Both you & Bob sure know just how to do it. Of course the pictures you take has a wee bit to do with it too! Hugs, Flo
