  • Can you believe we did this because of a POOL TABLE? The house is a 1960's ranch. Originally there was a door in this spot, directly across from the basement door inside, giving a straight-shot entry to the basement. The previous owners blocked off the door and installed a Patio door in the kitchen, instead. I've lived here for over 14 yrs and this has always bugged me - we can't get anything in the basement that can't make a tight halway turn into the basement. I got my son a pool table for Christmas, and the only way to get it downstairs was to re-install a door in this spot. my family thinks I'm nuts,anyway, so one nice day in January (in northern IL) Paul (my boyfriend), our friend Randy and my son and I , spent all day installing this door!
