Hi Rachel, very well done for a first try. For stuff like this, check out some photo tips from the pros on the internet beforehand. Use the tripod, and if your camera has the remote feature, get a remote control to prevent shaking. It works great with fireworks . Visit my ''International Fireworks Competition'' album when you have a chance. And thanks for your kind comment on my Niagara Falls pictures. Take care...#####, Montreal

Hi Rachel, these are just great for first try. Another low light thing I like to do is those evening shots that have street lights, marina lights, whatever and the sun has gone down and the sky turns that dark, dark blue color. I have had some good luck just by setting my camera on something solid. I took this one in Lahaina last year and have promised myself that I would do it again sometime soon. Have a great day! ~Marjie http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2267439160036306757kpkZqK

Hi Rachel, These shots are way better than any fireworks shots that I have ever taken. I am glad that you are making strides towards a full recovery from your surgery. As tempting as it is to play with your new camera, make sure you don't over do it! You have lots of time for that new toy! Randy

Fireworks are very difficult, they do not "pose" for you and are of high contrast. A tripod is a must, less zoom is better, and the right settings. Yours czme out really good for the first try!
