When I looked at my shot on the screen, I thought, how did those lights get up there, way up into the trees?! Ray's comment below explained it to me. I think he is right. Since it was not completely dark yet, it must be glistening snow way up in the trees! Thanks Ray!-- NOTE: This is not my house, but I like to drive by it. (p1703 on 12-25-2005)

Congratulations on the beautiful POTD. This is a marvelous shot of 'God's Christmas lighting'! I truly believe the lights in the trees are no more man-made lights than are the same 'lights' that outline the tree trunks to the right, the snow along the driveway, or the snow on the house roof. They're more likely glistening snow crystals, one of God's amazing creations.

I just heard the other night that a lot of Landscaping companies, to earn money during the winter months, have taken to outdoor decorating and doing the Holiday lighting ... maybe that's what happened to this house!! it really is a beautiful image!!

Nice capture. Intense blue. That is interesting about how they put the lights in the trees. I have done this with long poles and a hook but these are real high. One idea is that they might have thrown a ball of string over the branches and pulled the lights up with the string.
