This piazza is a nice place to visit. To our back is the Royal palace. What you see is a church, la basilica di San Francesco di Paolo. We think that there was a state wedding, or somesuch going on at the time, because there was a heavy military and carabinieri presence in dress uniforms and lots and lots of super expensive cars parked out front. We weren't able to get any closer because we were told that shooting a picture of a carabinieri member and cause you to get shot...apparently terrorists have used this method to attack them.
