Album Info:

First step of the mount is now complete. The hinge is aligned to the factory cut edges. Zinc wood screws (#8 x 1/2" flat head) affix the hinge to the two 1' boards. I should probably have used bronze finished screws but these will do equally well. Along the way I learnt something about wood screws and manually boring them in. Turns out that the pilot hole I drilled needed to be just perfect to minimize labour and yet hold the screw well. Once done, I measured the 'play' of the hinge in its plane to be 00°33'16" - measured as a 3mm swing at 310mm from the hinge. This is BIG; as big as the full moon! I may eventually have to change the hinge after all - or maybe use two separate smaller hinges.
